"The 2023 BOMA Conference provides the perfect opportunity for commercial real estate professionals to come together and learn what the industry's future holds. We've also got some great BOMA International achievements to celebrate, like the introduction of BOMA BEST to the US market and our reunification with BOMI (Building Owners & Managers Institute)," said BOMA International Chair Randal Froebelius, P.Eng. "Join us in Kansas City to see what these big changes at BOMA International mean for our members and the industry at large."

BOMA is excited to announce that the BOMI team has been hard at work revising three courses set to launch on July 1, 2023. The three courses are Budgeting and Accounting, Law and Risk Management, and Real Estate Investment and Finance. For more insight and information, BOMI representatives will be onsite to guide attendees through their educational opportunities.

Mary Lue Peck, BOMA International Senior Vice President, said, "BOMA International has had a year full of growth and learning. All of this will be on full display in Kansas City. With the incredible variety of hand-picked education sessions, seasoned industry veterans and emerging professionals can expect to learn something new at BOMA 2023. Here is a glimpse at a couple of the sessions you can expect at BOMA 2023:

Rethinking the office experience through a flexible lens

  • In the decade leading up to COVID, the global flexible space sector grew at an average annual rate of 22%, compared to a 1% average annual growth rate in traditional office space. Flex space is anticipated to comprise 30% of all office space by 2030, and 60% of corporate clients plan on incorporating flexible space into their work environment in the future. This session will focus on how traditional office space and flex are now complementary.

Market drivers and pathways to decarbonize your portfolio

  • With the increased drive to decarbonize and adhere to corporate commitments and state and local emissions targets, many organizations and governments have developed strategies, set goals, and made significant strides toward achievement. Building owners are taking steps to increase efficiency, electrify buildings, replace gas-powered equipment and procure renewable energy to meet aggressive targets and advance to zero carbon. In this session, industry leaders will share perspectives and experiences with emissions tracking, electrification and improving the overall performance of their spaces.
