A third thing to dive into is to find out what the value is of this roof compared to its competitors. Q: Why should homeowners seriously consider composite roofing when looking for a roof? 

A: Composite roofs are environmentally friendly, they can last 50 years or more, plus they are fade resistant. In many areas homeowners have reduced insurance premiums when they have composite roofing. Best of all, there’s greater peace-of-mind knowing you’re safe during hail and wind storms when you have composite roofing overhead. 

Q: What are your best “homeowner survival tips” for getting through a roofing installation?  

A: Reroofing can be a huge inconvenience. Living in an active construction zone is difficult. A reputable roofer knows this and should be able to limit your exposure as best as possible. Talk to your contractor beforehand about minimizing the length of the job — two days if possible. 

Q: If there’s storm damage involved to a roof, what tips do you have for a homeowner working with an insurance adjuster? 

A: First, reach out to your roofer BEFORE you call your insurance company. Second, when selecting your roofer, make certain the roofer has experience dealing with insurance claims.
