IKO manufactures asphalt roofing shingles with some of the heaviest-weight fiberglass mats in North America and Europe, which ensures they provide superior weather protection. No matter what Mother Nature throws at a roof, IKO has a solution to keep the people beneath the shingles safe. Not only are IKO products designed with performance in mind, they are also designed for aesthetics.
No matter the style a homeowner prefers, IKO has the right profile and color blend to create their dream roof. A great example of this is their Crowne Slate Performance Designer shingles, which pairs well with a variety of materials, including stone, masonry, wood, brick and siding. Overall, this line is authentic with just a little flare of drama. Colors like Regal Stone and Royal Granite take inspiration from awe-inspiring nature around us and showcase the much-desired look of slate with the power of IKO’s technology.
Thanks to their heavy-duty construction, weight and thickness, IKO Crowne Slate shingles qualify for a Class 4 Impact Resistance rating, which may entitle homeowners to a reduction in home insurance premiums. This rating is solely for the purpose of enabling residential property owners to obtain a reduction in their residential insurance premium, if available. This is not a guarantee of impact resistance against hail. Damage from hail is not covered under the limited warranty.
The shingles in this line are designed with copper fusion granules to foster natural algae resistance. This method allows for cohesive and complete coverage of the roof as the granules are spread evenly across the surface and the runoff water from rain further releases the copper ions that are toxic to moss, algae and lichens that can damage the roof’s performance.
If homeowners are looking for even more protection, this line can be installed with IKO PROFORMAX Integrated Roofing Accessories and IKO’s High Wind Application. This allows them to apply for a High Wind Limited Warranty Upgrade that qualifies the new roof for limited wind coverage to 130 mph (210 km/h).
For those interested in this line, there are shingle swatches, videos and photography online and in IKO’s brochures and ROOFViewer® tool. And to go another step further in the process, you can view several full-size shingles to see the entire color blend range and the impact of sunlight on the materials.
