Breathing clean, fresh air isn't just a luxury, it's a necessity, especially when considering the air quality within buildings.

In a recent episode of the AskARoofer podcast, hosts Megan Ellsworth and Lauren White had a chat with Barrington Green, a project manager at WTI Pure Air Controls with 17 years in the industry. Together the three dug into how to maintain healthy indoor air and what it means for building owners and occupants.

Barrington highlighted the crucial need for deep building decontamination and the professional assessment of air-handling systems. "It's best to have a professional assessment so that they can identify the current environmental condition of the building... and prescribe proper course of action once they come up with what's wrong with the building," he explained. This includes using the right equipment such as air scrubbers with HEPA filters and continuous monitoring systems, all aimed at ensuring that the contaminants are effectively removed or contained.

Mold is a common and often unseen issue in many buildings. Barrington clarified, "Every building has mold. It doesn't matter if you see it or not. It's there." The extent to which mold build up is present in a building determines what actions may be needed in order to fix it. Barrington recommends regular building health checks by trained experts to help prevent any unwelcome mold growth that might catch you by surprise.

That being said, prevention is key. That's why WTI Pure Air Controls takes thorough measures to ensure that the contaminant has been removed or contained within a home or workspace. Being proactive and seeking professional help can prevent potential disasters, safeguard health, and provide peace of mind. By understanding the significance of air quality and taking appropriate measures, we can all breathe a little easier.
