After a single mother had an unsuccessful roof replacement, T Bare Roofing decided to gift the struggling family with a brand-new roof free of charge.

When you’re paying for a new roof, one expectation is that your new roof won’t leak. Unfortunately, for single mother Lana Small, her last roofing project did not deliver this outcome.

According to the Greely Tribune, “For a $9,000 roofing job, she was left with no turtle vents and sections without roof flashing, resulting in skylights caving in, constant leaks and the walls inside her home bending.” When Lana contacted the company to fix the conditions of the roof, they became unresponsive. Not knowing what to do next, she became very anxious with the living conditions of her house, in fear that her roof could collapse on her and her four-year-old son at any moment. She told the Greely Tribune, “... We’re here by ourselves. The constant worry that I had … I mean the stress was beyond doable.”

Thankfully, Travis Bare of T Bare Roofing stepped in to provide a brand-new roof for Lana, out-of-pocket. He fixed the skylights, replaced the rotten wood, cut the siding, replaced the flash and added an ice and water shield. “My nature is to help someone out,” Travis said. “So in this certain situation, I just felt like I needed to do this.”

Lana was extremely grateful for the generosity, telling the Greely Tribune, “I literally thought my house was going to fall apart and the roof was going to cave in. I went from one end of the spectrum, stressed out beyond belief that my house was going to fall apart and cave in on me and my son, to getting this done for me. Now I can relax for the next 20 years.”

T Bare Roofing has been giving back since the company started in 2020 – the first donation was a free roof to a first responder during the height of COVID-19. Travis stated, “This is something, moving forward, we’re going to do every year. I just think this is a good opportunity to get more involved with the community.”
