When it comes to curb appeal, many people immediately think about their lawns or the color of their house. But it’s also important to look up! The roof on a house can completely change the aesthetics of your home and is a key consideration when maintaining your home’s curb appeal. For this episode of the AskARoofer podcast, Megan Ellsworth and Lauren White sat down with Kate Smith of Sensational Color to talk about what to consider when designing your new roof.
Kate is a color consultant and has worked with many well-known companies for the last two decades. Recently she has been working as a color expert for DaVinci Roofscapes. In her work, one of the big things she tries to share with people is the sheer number of options available. Many people think of roofing and automatically think about neutral and toned-down colors, but there is far more than that available. Kate explained, “Some companies, like DaVinci, create roofs with color through their composite tiles, and they have 49 standard colors and blends. They have so many colors that I love, and DaVinci can even create custom colors to match anything from the roof of your favorite historic building to the color of your favorite sports team.”
One of the reasons Kate is so excited to be working with DaVinci is that they have an incredibly wide variety of color options that are backed up by solid, dependable structure. She elaborated, “The colors excited me immediately, there were so many options. But beyond that, it's such a great product. It has a very long life, 50 plus years, lasts a lifetime. It's made really well, and it has everything from protection from hurricanes to sun, you name it. It just really is a fantastic product that I'm proud to represent and I'm proud to recommend to people.”
