Maureen from California had this question regarding adjustments to existing gutters when having her home reroofed:
When replacing a roof, is it the roofer's responsibility to adjust the existing gutters to the new roof?
The following video is what our roofing expert Charles Antis, CEO and owner of Antis Roofing & Waterproofing had to say in response to Maureen's question:
While there’s not a straight answer, “it’s kind of between yes and no” Charles shares, the bottom line is if your roofer did everything that was in the contract, there isn’t a case against him or her. Charles reframes the question though, saying, “SHOULD the roofing professional advise about the gutters before starting on the new roof? Yes!” As a homeowner, you can ask these questions of your roofing contractor when getting a bid, before the work starts. Read the contract to see what is or is not included in the services your contractor will perform.
