This homeowner from New Jersey wanted some advice and a second opinion about having a drip edge installed on their house.

Phil wrote to our roofing experts to ask them about the upgrades they are getting done on their 24-year-old house. They asked:

My roof is 24 years old and I have brand-new gutters, soffits, fascia plates, etc. But we never had a drip edge on the sides of the house with the gutters. The local roofer says the shingles are too brittle to install a drip edge. What do you advise?
