If you’re David Wiley and Tom Nagel, you rely on expert color advice from not one, but two, color experts. Since DaVinci offers free color consultant services, the homeowners started with us. They spoke to our consultant, Kate Smith, with Sensational Color, for their first color review.
For their brick, stone and stucco home exterior, Smith suggested the eye-catching Vineyard blend of eight different colors. She offered this suggestion to reflect the same abundant color features on the previous roof. The other recommendation she gave was an Aberdeen blend of five stand-out colors.
Next Wiley and Nagel consulted with Kurt Knapstein of Knapstein Design. After his input, the homeowners made their decision.
“We selected the Aberdeen blend,” says David Wiley. “It features Dark Gray, Light Brown, Dark Purple, Green Stone and Dark Stone.
“This is a great color combination that we love for our home. The multi-color and multi-width composite slate adds a great dimension to the home overall.”
After the color decision was made, the team at Epic Exteriors was brought in to install the new roofing on the 90-year-old English Tudor style home.
“Right from the beginning Epic Exteriors was exceptional to work with,” says Wiley. “Shawn Bellis is thorough and has an eye for important details.”
Bellis has been installing DaVinci composite products for many years in the Kansas City area. Therefore, he’s also been involved in a variety of color decisions. One homeowner decided on a wide assortment of warm earth tones on the roof because they had a jungle-themed home interior.
“When it comes to the color blends, I love the selection at DaVinci,” says Bellis. “I will offer an opinion, but I say leave the color stuff to the professionals at DaVinci. They are the experts at the color blends. By streamlining the process for the homeowner, DaVinci gives the homeowner the right amount of choices.”
