Setting new standards in durable and sustainable roofing

At the 2024 International Roofing Expo (IRE), they shared some of their greatest achievements that are setting new standards within the industry. 

Mitch Heitsch, regional manager for Westlake’s stone coated metal line, Unified Steel™, and Robin Anderson, technical and strategy development manager, caught up with Heidi J. Ellsworth in a live interview on day three of IRE. At their booth this year, Robin shared, “One of the big things that we tried to do this year is really introduce a couple cool roof colors. We’ve worked with our suppliers to develop some very attractive colors with high reflectivity. Our Sterling Gray and Harbor Wood colors meet all California Title 22-4 requirements. And what’s amazing is the sales have recently pushed outside of California more than what it has within the state.” 

There is no doubt, especially on the exhibit floor this year that there has been a huge increase in metal roofing across the industry, but Mitch explained the unique market and increasing demand for stone coated metal: “Just walking the show floor this week has shown you that metal roofing is becoming very popular and one thing that I really enjoy about the product line that we get to offer is all the benefits – the longevity, the durability of a metal roofing system, but it doesn’t have to look like a metal roof. It gives you all those benefits but aesthetically you can have something that looks like whatever it is that you want.” 

From their expanded line of cool roof colors to their material list generator, their comprehensive range of roofing materials and systems allows contractors to better serve their customers and homeowners to have peace of mind in their investment.
