Roof Turbine Vents Do They Really Work?

Roof  Turbines Vents, you know those funny spinning things you see upon the rooftops. Do they really work?

The answer is, yes they really do. Most residential homes have some type of attic ventilation. It could be Dormers, Gable End Vents, Ridge Vents or Turbines Vents. These all work well and are typically installed near the top of the peak of the roof, called the ridge.

To get the best performance, these vents should be within three feet or one meter from the ridge. Since hot air rises naturally, having an exit point for the hot air to escape, is a good thing for an attic, but it is only half of the story. For an attic to ventilate properly, it must have a balanced system, with equal amounts of intake as exhaust. The intake should be installed at the soffits or blocking where the walls meet the roof.

I have installed thousands of wind-driven turbines in my lifetime.  My customers love the roof turbines and notice a big difference in the Air Conditioner not running as much. These attic vents let out hot air like other types of vents but when the wind blows it pumps out even more hot air and this happens without using and electricity. That saves you money.
