Bob in California asked:

I put on a new roof a little over 30 years ago, but since then I added a patio cover that’s tied back into the main roof. I would normally start my first course of shingles at the gable side of the roof and work across into the valley. My question is because now I have a roof tied in both on the right side and the left side of the main roof. Where is the best area to start the first courses of shingles on the main roof? Is it in the middle between the two valleys.
