Bette in Connecticut asked:
I have a flat roof with no drainage. It is holding water. How can I create drainage? I need design for a slightly pitched roof with some sort of a gutter. This is a very modern house.
John Kenney from Cotney Consulting Group says:
The easiest way to accomplish that would be with a tapered roof design. Depending on your perimeter gutter locations, one of these two designs would suit you best. The slope is accomplished with ¼” pft sloped panels in various sizes, as seen below.
Marty from Go Roof Tune Up says:
The best way to create a slope in your flat roof is to have a tapered insulation system designed. You get the proper drainage and an increased “R” factor in your insulation.
