Which bonding adhesive do I use on a flat roof membrane?

Chris, a homeowner in Connecticut asked:
Reading labels informed me that the bonding adhesive for EPDM roofing I chose states that it can be used as a general purpose contact adhesive. Conversely the label on contact states it is good for interior or exterior and can be used for EPDM. Does it matter which one I use on a flat roof membrane over a plywood deck?

Our roofing expert John Stout from Go Roof Tune Up had this to say in response to the question:
We received your question regarding contact adhesive when applying EPDM Roofing material. There are so many complexities in the manufacture, and installation of roofing material, specifically EPDM Roofing. Each manufacturer has exact specifications regarding the application and installation of their product. Our recommendation is to always follow the manufacturers direction as closely as possible. This will give you the best product, and may even help if any warranty issue may arise.
