Natural slate can be a beautiful addition to any home. However, it’s not without its problems. Heavy and brittle, real slate needs a strong roofing frame. And, if you live in an area where hail is a problem, you’ll want to think twice before adding slate to your roof. Naturally, there are many pros and cons of a real slate roof.

Product specifics 

DaVinci Multi-Width Slate tiles are ½-inch in thickness. They are available in 12-, 10-, 9-, 7- and 6-inch widths and can be installed at 6-, 7-, 7-1/2, and 8-inch exposures. Installation can be straight or staggered and, as with all DaVinci products, tiles arrive at the job site bundled and pre-sorted by color and size, eliminating sorting and guesswork by installers. 

As with all composite roofing from DaVinci, the slate tiles are impervious to freeze/thaw cycles, impact resistant, color fade resistant, Class A fire rated (with specified underlayments), UL 2218 Class 4 impact rated, and wind resistant to 110 mph.
