FL Specialty Roofing is the September R-Club Roofer of the Month! - copy

Three years of hard work and connections have led FL Specialty to where they are today. 

Here at The Coffee Shops™, we love to highlight our incredible R-Club members, which is why we run the Roofer of the Month program. This September, we’re excited to announce that FL Specialty Roofing and their incredible team are our Roofer of the Month! To learn a little more about the company and what sets them apart from the rest of the roofing industry, Alex Tolle met up with Ryan Kruse of FL Specialty to chat.  

FL Specialty was founded towards the end of 2021 with the goal of filling the gap in the market for specialty, designer and complex roofs. Ryan explained, “As our name implies, we're a Florida-based company and we focus on specialty roofing products and systems. WI have two other partners, Cody and Gus, and we came together when we found that the market had a need for people that can specialize in, have the knowledge and the go-to expertise for unique projects.”  

These unique, specialty projects are often coming from the tile composite premium market. Their team works on a lot of re-roofing for larger residential and multifamily spaces (think condos, townhouses and so forth). For their projects, they like to use composite slate and shake from DaVinci Roofscapes. Ryan shared, “With DaVinci, we were actually one of, if not the first roofer to do the province slate product for them down here in Florida. So their products come in as a great option for those slate and shake options. It helps give you that kind of design and aesthetics, but also performance.” 

Working in this space for the last three years has been incredible for Ryan. He explained, “From revenue, from quantity of squares and everything we've done more than I think we ever thought we could do in this first kind of three years.” A definite highlight of these years for Ryan was winning DaVinci’s Project of the Year award. He shared a bit about that, “We try and be a roofer's roofer. We've actually worked with other roofers, and so joining R-Club and everything about that, being able to connect in the industry, connect with other roofers has been super helpful... even working with DaVinci and getting a Project of the Year Award kind of came with joining you guys and the connections we found.”
