Country Womans Club in Clarksville, Tennessee, has been standing for almost a hundred years. The clubhouse “is a well-preserved craftsman-style log building that was constructed in 1927,” according to CLARKSVILLE NOW. During the last century, the woman's club has done its best to sustain the original design despite modern looks taking over the market.
When it was time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the woman’s club, the attention was centered around the roof. Despite the club house being considered an historic figure, they didn’t have the funds for repairs, much less a new roof.
Thankfully, with a phone call to Jacob Crass, ABC Supply branch manager, he was able to assess the situation. Upon seeing the condition the house was in, “I called Best Choice Roofing, and they wanted to step up and help, too. Manufacturer Owens Corning, ABC and Best Choice Roofing came together to step up and provide this roof and labor,” Jacob said.
One of the main reasons the roof was in terrible condition was due to leaks that were caused by having multiple layers of roofing on top of one another. “Any time you have multiple layers on a roof, it’s susceptible to aging and deteriorating faster than having one layer put on properly,” said Eli West, Best Choice Roofing’s general manager.
This Country Womans Club has been around to help donate to different charities such as women’s shelters and “Shop with a Cop” programs. They even were able to donate during World War II. These women were grateful that they were aided in their time of need so they can continue giving to others.
