Curious if roofing professionals use retail stick gutter, Kimberly, a homeowner in Illinois, decided to ask!
Do you ever use retail stick gutter? Why/why not?
Below is what our roofing expert John Stout from Go Roof Tune Up had to say in response:
Yes, we do use stick gutter. However, we only use it for repairing damaged gutters.
Stick gutter works very well if properly installed. It does have a major drawback though; at each connection, dirt and trash will collect and the debris will accelerate the deterioration of the metal.
Seamless gutters have advanced so much over the years that they have become the gutter of choice for many, as they are formed on the job and installed to fit. Seamless gutters still have joints at corners, but very few as compared to stick gutters. The advancement of seamless gutters has made them very competitively priced.
Remember, whichever gutter system you may choose, they still need to be maintained to assure endurance.
