On a recent episode of the AskARoofer Podcast, Megan Ellsworth and Alice Reynolds sat down with Steve and Randy Kruse of the Kruse Brothers Inc. to discuss their roofing know-how and the LP SmartSide® Siding. The siding is treated with their proprietary SmartGuard® technology which is made to withstand the impacts of freeze/thaw cycles, high humidity, fungal decay and termites. This makes SmartSide a great choice for your siding regardless of the climate you live in. It works in all 50 states!
Steve tells the hosts, “SmartSide is engineered and made in such a way that it is the same formulation and the same product in all 50 states.” The product also works great in southern climates where there are termites. “LP SmartSide has zinc borate in [the] engineering process, and in the product itself that wards off termites.” It has excellent testimonials as well. “It's cool to be able to learn from other contractors and homeowners throughout the country and [hear] what their success is.”
SmartSide is also very effective in withstanding the effects of harsh weather. Think about the east coast of the United States which is often bombarded by hurricanes. This siding is able to take quite the beating as it can endure winds of up to 150 mph. It’s also effective against mid-west hailstorms, snowstorms, rainstorms, heat waves and so much more. SmartSide has also withstood the test of time. Since 1996, the installation instructions have been the same. Randy shared, “LP has a lot of pride in what their success has been throughout the country.”
